Gender Neutral Baby Shower-Bows and Bow ties

My Nieces Baby Shower was such a wonderful event. Since she did not know the gender of the baby, we did a Bow ties or Bows Baby Shower. The color scheme was red, blue and grey. Then I threw in fun stripes, polka dots and chevron.

Invitation that I created set the tone for the day.

One cake would not have been enough. So two it was. One Chocolate and the other Vanilla. So Delicious! Heather from Sugar Fairy Celebrations did it again. She also made the beautiful cake pops and the Bow and Bow tie cookies.

We had everyone grab a clip of what their prediction was. Then we played the game of "You can't say the word baby"

Whats a party without Pinwheels! All striped paper was found at Michaels.

The Bows and Bow ties tooth picks, utensil bags and blue straws were purchased from the Pretty Paper Shop. They were perfect. Go check out her site.

The bowls and popcorn boxes were a great Homegoods find.

My Niece had a wonderful time and was so grateful for all that attended. Can't wait till that ball of Sunshine arrives!

Gender Neutral Bow ties or Bows Invitations

I love creating new invitations to go along with any theme that I am planning. I will be doing a Bow ties or Bows baby shower in July. I chose the colors Red, Light Blue and Grey. Here is the invitation.

I got my inspiration from these items found at one of my favorite stores, Homegoods. These items set the tone for the party and I can't wait to incorporate them!

It's time to get Married!

Remember the Summer Joy Bridal Shower that I told you I was doing for my bestee? (the inspiration board may jog your memory) I have been working on it diligently, well not so much. I decided to sit back & give business to some of the fabulous vendors on the web.

So my first vendor is Kelly of WH Hostess. I just sent her my inspiration board and she came up with these fabulous invites and other contrasting designs. I thought they were simply wonderful and wanted to immediately share with you.
Home Goods had the cutest hour(or 30 min) glasses that went great for the "Time to get Married" theme. Of course you know that was not the theme before, but it is now!

Nautical Baby Shower

We had a great time at the office shower that I did with the help of some fabulous ladies. This shower was for a male in our office that is having his first baby girl. We wanted to shower him with love since this is his first and he is so excited. His wife indulged us and came along for the ride. So check out the pictures below.

The lovely couple

Table Centerpiece found at Homegoods on Clearance for 7.00. The middle star was red and I painted pink. Simple fix!

Wooden anchor's and lighthouses found at Dollar Tree. I also painted two of the lighhouses pink.

Traditional paper hat we made just for him. His wife thought it was so funny

Dessert Buffet Since this was a personal event thrown by me, I decided that this was the perfect time to use the free printable from Hostess with the Mostess. They were pure perfection. You can find the free lables here. The Ahoy sign came from the dollar section of Michaels.

The bag lables were created by me. Everyone enjoyed their candy. Always a hit!

It's My Party Recap

Saturday, I celebrated my 34th birthday. I can tell you I partied like I was turning 21. Glad I'm past that stage in my life :-). We started off the celebration with a classy cocktail party at my house and then we headed to downtown Baltimore to the Power Plant. (No pictures of that thank God!)

If you are a reader of my blog, you know that I am not a cook at all. So the food was courtesy of some of my favorite take out places.

I like the idea of a tasting party and I think I will have a bigger one soon. Pier 1 has the cutest tasting collection. I got the shot glasses from there. They also came with small spoons.

The spoons for the Mexican Gumbo were purchased at World Market for .99 a piece

As part of the gifts to my friends, I decided to write a personal letter. I have to admit I cried all night long writing these letters. Each one of my friends mean so much to me. It was a great honor to have them celebrate my birthday with me.

For the favors, I found the perfect Turquoise boxes and bags at Home Goods. Inside was a notepad to write notes to their friends and family and a Picture Holder. I took a picture with each friend which will be sent in my thank you cards.
